Manama, March 3 -- (BNA): Adviser to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister for Oil and Industrial Affairs and Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC)'s Chairman Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa met Malaysian Ambassador to Bahrain Ahmed Shahizan Abd Samad at the Company’s complex in Sitra.
During the meeting, a part of the GPIC’s efforts to promote cooperation and integration with companies the world over, Shaikh Isa briefed the Malaysian Ambassador on the Company’s development under the guidance of the Board of Directors and the Management. He also outlined the Company’s operational process as well as on the high quality products, exported to some of the world’s largest markets.
GPIC's Chairman said he hoped the Ambassador’s visit would mark the beginning of a new phase of cooperation between the Company and Malaysian companies operating in the field of fertilizers and petrochemicals.
The Ambassador toured the complex and visited the Leadership and Learning Centre to take a look at the courses it offers for the development of human resources. The centre, he was told, also attracts students from around the world in addition to Bahrain. Ambassador Dato' Abd Samad visited several environmental projects within the Company and saw the harmonious coexistence between the industry and the environment.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude to Shaikh Isa for the hospitality and said he admired the high levels of professionalism reached by the Company. He also paid tribute to the GPIC’s contributions not only in the industrial field, but also in the field of community development. He praised the Company’s implementation of programmes for the benefit of society and the capabilities of its employee which, he said, were the reason for the achievements.
