PM Meets His Egyptian Counterpart In Cairo

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Sharif Ismail, fighting terrorism and the political and security situation in the region. "Abadi met in Cairo today with the Egyptian prime minister, where an official reception ceremony for Abadi was performed by playing the Iraqi and Egyptian anthems," the prime minister's media office said. Abadi discussed with Ismail the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, the fight against terrorism, the political and security situation in the region and the Iraqi vision for the future of the region based on development and security instead of differences and wars. For his part, Egyptian Prime Minister expressed his country's support for Iraq in its war against terrorism and its support for Iraq's unity and sovereignty. Al-Abadi arrived at Cairo International Airport on an official visit to Egypt for several hours, as part of a regional tour which he began it yesterday in Saudi Arabia, and includes Jordan, Turkey and Iran./ end
