PM: Iraq Does Not Need Foreign Forces On The Ground

Baghdad / NINA / -Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed: "Iraq does not need the presence of foreign forces on the ground." Al-Kadhimi said in a televised statement that NINA followed: "The country needs international support and the coalition air forces continue to direct air strikes against ISIS hideouts, and that there is a need for security coordination and aerial aviation." He added, "The security forces carried out an operation in mountainous areas in Kirkuk governorate, during which they launched more than 300 air strikes, in which a large number of ISIS members were killed." Regarding the relationship between Washington and Baghdad, the Prime Minister stated that it must be transformed into an American-Iraqi interest in the fields of economy, security, culture, health, and other fields. He pointed out: "The Anti-Corruption Committee is facing charges of abuse against officials detained on charges of corruption, and there is a distortion of the reputation of that committee," indicating: "There are parties trying to obstruct the efforts of the Iraqi government to fight corruption and eliminate it." / End
