PM To His French Counterpart: Iraq Seeks Strong Relations With The Countries Of The World And Restore Iraq To Its Int’l Status

Baghdad (NINA)- Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi assured his French counterpart Jean Castex: "Iraq seeks strong relations with the countries of the world based on common interests and for Iraq to return to its international status." A statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office, which the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) received a copy, said: "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi began, this morning, Monday, his first talks in the French capital, Paris, with his meeting with his French counterpart Jean Castex, in the presence of a number of ministers from the two countries." The statement added, "During the meeting, ways to develop bilateral relations between the two countries and strengthen them in the economic, investment, security and health fields were discussed. The situation in the region was discussed, and views were exchanged on a number of issues." Al-Kadhimi stressed, according to the statement, the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in many sectors, indicating: "The government seeks solid relations with the countries of the world based on common interests and restore Iraq to its international status."
