Phone talk held between Kyrgyz, Kazakh presidents

Bishkek, June 6, 2022. /Kabar/. A phone talk was held on Monday between Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. During the conversation, Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated his counterpart on the success of the national referendum on the adoption of amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, his press service said. The president noted that the Kyrgyz side took part in the monitoring of the referendum as part of a number of international observer missions (SCO, IPA CIS, CSTO PA) and witnessed a historic moment in determining the further development of Kazakhstan. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked Zhaparov, noting that the people of Kazakhstan have made a momentous decision. The Kazakh leader briefly spoke about the main goals and objectives of the constitutional reform. The two presidents also discussed the implementation of agreements reached during the official visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan on May 26, 2022. The sides agreed to continue an active political dialogue aimed at strengthening good-neighborliness and brotherhood between the two states and peoples.
