People's Open-air Ice Rink Crowded with Visitors

Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- The People's Open-air Ice Rink, located on the bank of the Taedong River in Pyongyang, is bustling with schoolchildren who are on winter vacation. According to Ji Tong Il, chief engineer of the ice rink, more than 1 000 schoolchildren and their parents enjoy skating at the rink on holidays and Sundays. Freezing cold continues for several days, but the rink is always crowded with visitors. Paek Hyang Wi, a student of the Ryusong Junior Secondary School in Central District, said: I frequent here with my classmates during this vacation. Whenever I come here, I feel refreshed. This splendid ice rink was built for us thanks to the love of the Workers' Party of Korea for the people and younger generation. It makes me feel boundless gratitude to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un. -0-
