People welcome to nationwide grand shows in honor of Thai King

BANGKOK, May 14 (TNA) - The Thai government, through the Ministry of Culture, will organize grand cultural shows nationwide during May 22-28, marking the country's celebration of the recent Royal Coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, or King Rama X, and showing the public loyalty and gratitude to the new Thai monarch. Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat led his team to meet Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha at Bangkok's Government House on Tuesday to report on the one-week grand entertainment shows in Bangkok and all other 76 Thai provinces simultaneously. Vira stated that in Bangkok, the upcoming grand cultural shows will be organized at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground near the Grand Palace, while in other provinces, the grand shows will be held at focal venues set by the provincial governments. During the meeting, the prime minister also watched some demonstration shows and asked all Thais to conserve such the national cultural identity and to keep national peace and order. According to the minister, people from all walks of life, including international visitors to the Thai Kingdom, are welcome to the grand Thai cultural shows, including, classic masked and puppet plays, traditional lantern and drum dances and light and sound stages, that have been jointly prepared by all relevant parties. In the capital, the minister acknowledged, the one-week cultural shows will be held during 6:30pm-9:30pm amid the atmosphere of a vast open-air brightly-illuminated and decorated flower garden.
