A peaceful transfer of power took place in Kyrgyzstan according to the Constitution, Acting President, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov told at a government meeting. He noted that this suggests that the political and cultural consciousness of the people has changed. “We just have to work,” he said. Sadyr Zhaparov also said that the reason for the political events in early October was the weak work of the government and the parliamentary elections on Oct. 4. In this regard, he said that now it is necessary to unite all forces and work in one direction in the interests of the state. In particular, he said that the main tasks are to stabilize the economy and close the budget deficit and fight corruption. The prime minister named the weak fight against corruption as the second important area. “Why there is no income from customs revenues? Why our roads are bad? There is drug lords in the world, we have energy lords. There is no attempt in the energy sector to eradicate the corruption that has formed there. There are checks. You will bear responsibility, at least after the change of power,” he added. In addition, Sadyr Zhaparov called for resolving issues with laws and amendments to the normative legal act regarding the economy as soon as possible. He noted that proposals for two years may not be considered. The head of government called on the members of the Cabinet not to bureaucratize these processes.
