Parliamentary delegation concludes participation in WTO conference

Manama, Feb 19 (BNA) – A Bahrain parliamentary delegation has concluded its participating in the annual session of the Parliamentary Conference on the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva. The meeting approved 16-item final statement presented to WTO focused on the need to engage parliamentarians in decision-making process related to WTO resolutions to activate the parliamentarians supervisory role and to share their governments in decision-making process. The final statement stressed the importance of trade in maintaining peace relations and cooperation among nations. It also lauded the adoption of TWO resolutions related to the facilitation of trade customs procedures and taken in the 2013 Ministerial Conference in Bali .
