Parliament hails Palestinian reconciliation deal

Manama, Apr29(BNA)The Parliament welcomed the Palestinian reconciliation agreement which was signed last Wednesday in Gaza between Fatah and Hamas. In a statement today, it expressed the hope that the deal would pave the way for Palestinian unity to confront the ongoing Israeli aggression. Convening for its weekly session, the Parliament wished the deal would enable Palestinians to regain their inalienable rights - on the basis of the UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative – and established their independent Palestinian State, with East Jerusalem as its capital. It urged all Palestinian factions to renounce their disputes and stand united to defend their just cause, regain their inalienable rights and coordinate stances in regional and international arenas. The Parliament strongly condemned the Zionist and apartheid state for the atrocities perpetrated against the Palestinian people. It slammed the international community for keeping silent on the tragic plight of the Palestinian people, calling upon all regional and international organisations and parliaments to defend the Palestinians' rights against the repressive Israeli policies.
