Over 6,000 Use MoI's Metrash2 Services Via Smart Phones
Doha, March 12 (QNA) - More than 6,000 registered users have accessed various Metrash2 e-services through smart phones, the Information Systems Department (ISD) of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has said.
ISD Assistant Director Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Malki told journalists here that to date more than 12,000 exit permits or Khuruj have been issued, mostly to companies, via Metrash2.
Details of the success of MoI's e-services offered by Metrash2 were announced by officials at a media conference held at the headquarters of ISD in Duhail.
Besides Colonel Al Malki, the General Directorate of Borders Passports and Expatriates Affairs (GDBPEA) Head of Visa Section Colonel Abdullah Ahmed Al Ansari and officer of the technical office at GDBPEA Lt. Abdullah Al Muhannadi attended the conference.
Through the MoI's Metrash2 e-service citizens and residents expatriates can avail 43 services like exit permit, visit visa, traffic, residence permit, e-gate, query services, navigation of MoI services centers and communicate with the ministry from any where in the world and any time through any smart phone, Col. Al Malki said.
Renewal of driving license, obtaining replacement for lost driving license, vehicle permit, vehicle exit permit, transfer of vehicle
ownership, transfer of fancy number plate, traffic certificates such as vehicle clearance certificate, certificate of cancelled vehicles, certificate of exported vehicle, previously owned vehicles certificate, first owner certificate, driving license certificate, distinguished number plate certificate, viewing registered traffic violations and pay due fines are the traffic services that can be availed through Metrash2 within minutes without any help from anybody, he said.
To avail Metrash2 services the user should register the smart phone number on his, a free of charge service, and should have Smart ID Card which can be obtained from Emigration Department at Gharaffa district or any one of the 15 service centers of the MoI.
The service centers are located in Musaimeer, Wakra, Industrial area, HMC, Q-Post, Shahaniya, Souq Waqif, Al Khor, Shamal, Zubara, Mesaieed and Umm Salal, ISD officials said.
Activation and renewal of eGate card and query about travel movements, owned companies, query about the numbers of expatriates under the sponsorship, and query about owned vehicles also can be done through Metrash2.
The Metrash2 user can also navigate the nearest service centers of the Ministry of Interior from his smart phone and can communicate with the Ministry through this service.
The Metrash2 Service can be activated through the Self Service Kiosks installed in 10 locations in Doha and outer areas such as Qatar Post headquarters, Landmark Shopping Mall, Villaggio Mall, Royal Plaza Mall, Airport Passports Department (Visa
section), Lulu Hyper (Airport branch), Traffic Department (Madinah Khalifa), Al Meera (Wakra), Meuseum of Islamic Art and Qatar Foundation.
The Metrash2 service is available on Qtel at present and the fee for issuing a new smart ID Card is QR 100. For those who are interested in e-gate service at Doha airport can avail it for QR 100 for one year, QR 150 for 2 years and QR 200 for three years. (END)
