Oman Air lauds cooperation, ties with Bahrain agencies

By Arrackal Alexander M Manama, Apr 9 (BNA): Oman Air began Bahrain operations with only one flight a day in 2004, but when that relationship has grown in ten years the frequency has grown to 21 flights, said Erric Almeida, Country Head of the airline to Bahrain. “We start celebrations of the 10 year relations with Bahrain today and it will go on till the end of the year,” he said. As part of the celebrations, the airline has upgraded its baggage allowance by 10 kilogram to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Kochi and Kozhikode, Chennai, Cangalor, Islamabad and Lahore, said the country head. The fares to these busy sectors, Almeida said, has been slashed by 10 per cent till May 20. The airline now connects to 43 destinations and passengers from Bahrain have shown an enthusiasm to fly the airline. Proof of this he said, is the 30 per cent rise in traffic from Bahrain. “Passengers from Bahrain flying to India, Far East, Pakistan and Europe have always chosen us among the favoured airlines,” he said. The accolades are not far behind, with Skytrax giving them favourable rating in the business class. Talking about relations with the Bahrain Airport Services and Bahrain Airport Company, Almeida said that Oman Air enjoyed more than cordial relations with these agencies. “They are with us at all times and also as we enter the tenth year they are part of us,” he added.
