OIC's Istanbul conference issues joint declaration

ISTANBUL (A.A) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum ended Friday in Istanbul as participants released a joint declaration calling for more consultations to devise policies and ways to contribute to dialogue and friendship between societies of the member countries. "Creating a forum between broadcasting regulatory authorities of Muslim countries will contribute to advanced cooperation in the Muslim world," the declaration said.    The declaration said efforts were needed to establish common standards between member countries, improve right to communication and freedom of information, take measures to ensure human rights, human dignity, respect for private life as well as protection of family values.    The declaration also pledged to hold annual meetings between OIC members' broadcasting regulators.
