OIC Chief Congratulates HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani

Jeddah, June 25 (QNA) - , Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu issued a congratulatory message today to HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, on the occasion of the announcement of his assumption of rule in the State of Qatar. The Secretary General paid tribute to HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani for his announcement on Tuesday 25th June, of his handover of powers to HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, in a bold step that leads the way toward a new stage in the forward progress of the State of Qatar with a new generation taking up the helm. Ihsanoglu said on the occasion: I wish every success to Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, in continuing his countrys march towards development and prosperity and in leading it towards broader horizons with the benefit of his extensive experience at the local, regional and international levels. The OIC Chief underlined that the State of Qatar has consistently supported the forward progress of Islamic solidarity and that it has always been a key supporter for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in all spheres: political, economic, humanitarian, social and scientific.(QNA)
