Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulates Kazakhstanis on Capital's Day

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has congratulated all people of Kazakhstan on the Capital's Day. "The city, the entire country put up money for in the past, has now become the important donor of the country's treasury. This is the place where innovations and business are being shaped. Astana has grown into the center of education, health care and culture. And we are proud of it. I wholeheartedly congratulate all of you on the Capital's Day," President Nazarbayev said at the flag-raising ceremony at the Atameken ethno-memorial complex on Friday. The Kazakh leader believes that Kazakhstan's capital has become one of the most internationally acclaimed cities in the world thanks to a number of high-profile events held there over the past 16 years. "After an 11-year break, the OSCE held its summit in Astana. Kazakhstan's capital has played host to numerous economic and political events and earned a remarkable standing. Basically, the small town of Akmola has turned into a megapolis with the population of 800 thousand people," Nursultan Nazarbayev added.
