Number of e-wallets in Kyrgyzstan increased to 35% in 2021

Bishkek, June 13, 2022. /Kabar/. The number of e-wallets in Kyrgyzstan increased by 34.9% in 2021, the National Bank of the republic said. During the COVID-19 pandemic period, remote payment methods and e-commerce have developed significantly. "E-money remained one of the most accessible and popular tools in Kyrgyzstan. At the end of last year, the number of e-wallets reached the mark of 4.7 million units. Thus, these figures increased by 34.9% compared to 2020," the report said. The National Bank reported that there are 396 POS-terminals for cashing out funds from the population in the branches of Kyrgyz Pochtasy.
