Northern Governorate's Attorney General: Prosecution investigates duet's jailbreak

Manama: April 27 – (BNA): The Northern Governorate's Public Prosecution Attorney General Hussain Al-Bu Ali stated that the Public Prosecution has assumed investigation in the annals of the twosome jailbreak of convicts Redha Al-Ghasra and Hussain Al-Banna. Intensive investigation was carried out in this incident and the interrogation of eight suspects was finalized, including the accomplices involved in assisting the convicts to run away from prison, who have managed the means of escape and places of hideout. The Prosecution ordered them into precautionary custody pending further investigations. Firearms experts have been assigned the task of examining the weapons and ammunitions caught in possession of the suspects. Also, investigations were ordered regarding some persons in order to determine their connection with the incident. Al-Bu Ali said that the investigation revealed that the convicts were able to run away with help from others according a prepared, pre-determined plan. As part of the plot, the accomplices managed to get a boat and car to use them in helping the convicts and to transport them to their place of hideout as soon as they were able to break out of jail. The boat and car used in the incident have been caught. The Attorney General said that investigation with the suspects has been finalized. Forensic lab reports and police investigations are due to come in order to refer the suspects before a criminal court trial. (IY) I.Y
