NIHR's Board of Commissioners convenes

Manama, July 9 (BNA): The Board of Commissioners at the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) held its third regular meeting under the chairmanship of NIHR Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz Abul. The panel reviewed the results of NIHR delegation’s visit to the 29th session of the UN Human Rights Council, and the meetings with a number of officials from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and a number of international human rights organisations. It also reviewed the draft NIHR’s complaint guide, and tasked the Secretariat-General with taking the necessary procedures to translate it. Chairperson of the Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Maria Khoury presented the complaints and assistance requests received over the past period, and the procedures taken towards them. The panel agreed to hold its next meeting on September 14.
