NIHR President receives Swiss delegation

Manama, Apr. 23 (BNA): President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Dr. Abdul Aziz Hassan Abul received Head of the Human Rights Department at the Swiss Foreign Ministry Véronique Haller and her accompanying delegation. He reviewed the role of NIHR in fostering human rights in Bahrain. Both sides stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation in building national capabilities in the human rights field and enhancing effective partnership with competent parties. Haller lauded the the role of NIHR in boosting human rights in Bahrain, commending the institution’s annual report. The meeting was attended by non-resident Swiss Ambassador to Bahrain Etienne Thévoz, Deputy Head of Division Middle East North Africa Thomas Gürber, NIHR Vice President Abdullah Al Derazi, Head of the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee Farid Ghazi Rafi, council member Dr. Muna Mohammed Hijris and Assistant Secretary General Yasser Ghanim Shahin.
