NHRC To Hold Conference on Promoting Human Rights In Arab World

Doha , January 08 (QNA) - The Qatari National Human Rights Council (NHRC) will hold a conference on enhancing the performance of national human rights organizations in the Arab World on January 14 -15. The conference will be organized in cooperation with Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations. The conference, which will be held at the Ritz Carlton, is to feature possible ways to help Human rights organizations promote and protect human rights as articulated in the Paris Principles. The Paris Principles was the first International Workshop on the role national human rights institutions in Promoting and Protecting of Human Rights. The workshop was held in Paris in 1991. It was adopted a year later by the United Nations Human Rights Commission. (QNA)
