Newly appointed ambassadors present copies of credentials to Kyrgyz deputy FM

Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2022 / Kabar/. On November 28, 2022, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Asein Isaev received the newly appointed Ambassadors to the Kyrgyz Republic - the Republic of Moldova, Lilian Dariya, the Portuguese Republic, Maria Madalenua Loba Carvalho Fischer, the Republic of Nicaragua, Alba Azusena Torres Mejia, Republic Cyprus, Kypros Giorgallis, Montenegro, Milorad Scepanovic, and the Republic of Guatemala, Jairo David Estrado Barrios, on the occasion of presenting copies of their Credentials.
First Deputy Minister Isaev congratulated the ambassadors on the beginning of their diplomatic missions in Kyrgyzstan and expressed a hope for joint active work in further strengthening of the relations between the states.
During the meetings, the parties discussed matters on the bilateral cooperation agenda, prospects for further development of political dialogue, expansion of trade and economic cooperation and improvement of the legal framework. The exchange of views on cooperation at multilateral platforms has also been raised.
Ambassador of Moldova to the Kyrgyz Republic, Liliyan Dariya, briefly informed about the current situation in the country, suggested holding regular inter-MFA political consultations and considering the matter of resuming the work of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission.
The issues of organizing bilateral visits at high and highest levels were discussed with Ambassador of Portugal Fischer, parties also discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, hydropower and renewable energy sources. In addition, the Portuguese side proposed to organize foreign exchanges between the universities of Portugal and Kyrgyzstan, as well as to establish cooperation between representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises of the two countries in the field of know-how.
According to Ambassador of NicaraguaTorres Mejia, one of the promising areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Nicaragua could be cultural and humanitarian interactions, in particular, the translation of the works of the great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov into Spanish for the countries of Latin America.
One of the main topics of the conversation with tAmbassador of Cyprus Giorgallis was the expansion of cooperation in the field of tourism, education and science, as well as within the multilateral platforms - the UN, the OSCE and the European Union.
Ambassador of Montenegro Shchepanovich proposed to cooperate more actively in the field of tourism and, in order to expand the legal framework, submitted draft agreements between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries for consideration. Another potential area of interaction was the holding of inter-MFA consultations and the organization of mutual visits at various levels.
Ambassador of Guatemala Barrios has highlighted an urge to expand the political dialogue within the framework of the UN and other international organizations, holding inter-MFA political consultations. He also proposed to hold bilateral consultations and establish cooperation in the field of education and simplification of the mutual travel procedures for holders of diplomatic passports.
At the end of the aforementioned meetings, First Deputy Minister Asein Isaev shared his vision on further strengthening cooperation with these countries and wished the Ambassadors success in their work in the Kyrgyz Republic.
