Naval Base Ready to Receive Returnees from Wuhan

RAYONG, Feb 4 (TNA) – Naval officials and health personnel on Tuesday morning conducted a drill to receive 142 Thai citizens, returning from Wuhan today. The Air Asia flight, bringing them home will arrive at U-Tapao Airport this evening. Thermal screening of all incoming passengers will be conducted at the aircraft stand upon their arrivals as they will not enter the passenger terminal. The bus will pick them up on the apron and take them to Queen Sirikit Hospital in Sattahip district for thorough medical check-ups. The returnees, who show no sign of any illness, will be transferred to the accommodation in the Satthahip naval base, where they will be quarantined for 14 days. Abhakornkiartiwong Hospital in the Satthahip naval base will be an operation center to monitor the infectious disease situation. The hospital will open a visiting area for relatives of the returnees, where they will be allowed to talk to each other via video conference. Initially, all 142 Thai nationals have to pass thermal screening by Chinese authorities before they will be allowed to return to Thailand. If anyone has fever with the body’s temperature over 37.5 degrees Celsius, they will be sent to hospital for treatment. (TNA)
