The National Security Chancellery Holds A Special Conference For The World Interfaith Harmony Week

Baghdad / NINA / - The National Security Adviser held a special conference for the International Interfaith Harmony Week, in the presence of National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji. Religious, intellectual, academic and social figures of different ethnic and spectra of Iraqi society participated in the conference, as well as civil society organizations. In a speech opening the conference, Al-Araji stressed: "The human being is the focus of religions, and that all religions call for tolerance, harmony and respect for the other, and it is like a multi-colored bouquet of roses, but it is presented as a single bouquet." He added, "We can make the difference a strength and make religion love for people," noting: "The Coronavirus pandemic united the world, because it felt a real danger facing everyone." Al-Araji pointed out, "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi has set March 6 as a day of tolerance," noting that "there is no reason for hatred in all religions, as all religions call for tolerance, love and coexistence." The conference also witnessed interventions from participants from different religions, sects and thinkers, during which they stressed that Iraq can be a model for world peace, noting that tolerance, harmony and acceptance of the other are among the greatest human values, and the view of differences in thought, ethnic and religion must be changed with understanding and respect for the other thoughts and beliefs. The conference concluded by emphasizing the rejection of extremism in discourse and replacing them with concepts of tolerance, brotherhood, love and coexistence. The attendees expressed their aspiration to continue holding such conferences that develop in society the lofty human concepts, leading to what Iraqi society aspires to in terms of harmony and peace./End
