Nasser bin Hamad hails media support

Manama, June 6 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee expressed his sincere appreciation to local media for keenly covering the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and the eighth edition of Nasser bin Hamada Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser8). Thanking both Arabic and English local newspapers, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised Akhbar Al Khaleej, Al Wasat, Al Watan, Al Bilad, Gulf Daily News and Daily Tribune Newspapers, as well as online forums and sports pages for publishing the latest news about Nasser 8 and their support to local youth and sports. Additionally, he hailed Bahrain Sports Channel and Bahrain English Radio for their ceaseless coverage of the events of the championship. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa commended the local media, adding that their support contributes in the thrive and success of local sports events. Bahrain English Radio Channel is keen to cover the events of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and the eighth edition of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship Nasser 8. This was shown by the continuous presence of Bahrain English Radio Correspondent David Bloomer at Khalifa Sports City since day one. During his visits to the venue of the championship, Bloomer interviewed a number of Nasser 8 officials and organisers, including HH Shaikh Nasser Media and Information Centre Head and Nasser 8 Supreme Organising Committee Chairman Tawfeeq Al Salehy and Deputy Chairman and Nasser 8 Director Hassan Ismail. Ambulance trucks and staff of the Ministry of Health are present at the venue of Nasser 8 on a daily basis, in case of any on-field injuries take place. The medical team includes physiotherapists, who are affiliated with the General Organisation of Youth and Sports (GOYS). Al Salehy expressed his gratitude to the ministry for the humanitarian and important initiative, aiming at preventing any serious injuries during the championship.
