Nasser bin Hamad commends Bahrain Sports Channel

Manama, June 20 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee appreciated the remarkable coverage provided by Bahrain Sports Channels to the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and the eighth Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8). HH Shaikh Nasser thanked the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) and Bahrain Sports Channels staff members for covering Nasser 8 from day one and contributing in delivering the tournament’s matches, news and updates to a wider range of audience, adding that the efforts of the channels to cover the additional games (handball, volleyball and basketball) this year are appreciated. HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted the cooperation and coordination between Bahrain Sports Channels and the supreme organising committee, resulting in great coverage of the championship. At the same time he thanked local media for allocating sufficient space for Nasser 8, including online forums and social media accounts such as nasser8.bh, nasserfootball and alhakam_bh on Instagram. AUDIENCE PRIZES AWARDED The supreme organising committee of Nasser 8 awarded the audience of the first matches in the football tournament playoffs and the first handball games on Friday. Three lucky spectators won 200 BD from CrediMax and received it after the match ended. The committee stated that the prizes come as an appreciation to spectators’ enthusiasm and their insistence to personally attend the matches of Nasser 8, besides attracting more audience. BEST PLAYERS HONOURED Supported by Fast Link Company the supreme organising committee awarded the best players of each match in the second round of Nasser 8 football matches. Victorious Jordanian player Hassoona Al Shaikh and Al Fakhar’s Mustapha Yaqoub received the prizes on Friday after winning Al Zilzal and Al Wehda. BAHRAIN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION LAUDS NASSER 8 Bahrain Football Association Board of Directors Chairman Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said the association is honoured to be an active partner in annually organising Nasser bin Hamad Sports Games, highlighting the prominence of the tournament which is patronised and supported by the icon of youth and sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. Shaikh Ali said it is an obligation of local sports federations and associations to support the initiatives of HH Shaikh Nasser as it generally benefits Bahraini sports. Shaikh Ali confirmed that the association is keen on supporting the championship since it was first launched before seven years, in order to make it the main Ramadan sports events in the Kingdom.
