Doha, February 16 (QNA) - Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat), has announced the completion of the transition of the marketing, sales and distribution activities of Qatar Fuel Additives Company Limited (QAFAC) to it. Effective 1st February, Muntajat ,the company with the exclusive rights to market and distribute Qatar's regulated chemicals and petrochemicals, has assumed responsibility for the marketing, sales and distribution of the Methanol and methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) produced by QAFAC and has also taken its first order for these products, Muntajat said in a statement released here Saturday . The two products are part of the regulated chemical and petrochemical products that Muntajat will purchase, market, distribute and sell to customers in more than 120 countries worldwide, as mandated by Emiri Decree No./11/ of 2012. HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, who is also the Chairman of Muntajat's Board of Directors , hailed the creation of Muntajat as "a landmark achievement that signals the emergence of Qatar's chemicals and petrochemicals industry on the world stage." "By consolidating the distribution and marketing channels of these products, it will play an increasingly important role in supporting the progress of both the global chemical and petrochemical industry, as well as Qatar's national economy," HE Al-Sada said. Customers can expect a seamless transition of the current marketing, sales, and associated operations activities of QAFAC to Muntajat, ensuring continuous supply to its existing customers. As part of its strategic migration plan, Muntajat has informed all of QAFAC's current customers about the transition of service arrangements and is carrying out direct customer visits to reassure and strengthen the commercial relationships. "The 1st of February marks two critical commercial milestones for Muntajat -- completion of the QAFAC transition as well as taking our first client order. We are advancing to plan towards the target of full transition from all of Qatar's producing entities by mid-2013," Muntajat CEO Mr. Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla said. Muntajat will operate through 36 offices spread around the globe with a dedicated team of more than 400 employees, 250 in the Doha office and another 150 in the Global Marketing Network, in addition to a number of logistic establishments and warehouses positioned in strategic regional locations that will support its activities of marketing, sales and distribution. QAFAC is the first of the nine producing entities for which Muntajat has the mandate to exclusively market, sell and distribute regulated products produced in the State of Qatar. "Founding Muntajat is considered a significant step by the State of Qatar since it aims at gathering all the marketing expertise in one company rather than having it scattered in different companies. Having Muntajat marketing our products will enable us to focus on optimizing our operations," said Mr. Nasser Jeham Al Kuwari, Board Member and General Manager of QAFAC. "The end result of the transition will be positive for both companies and customers." Aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030's aim to develop a competitive and diversified economy, Muntajat serves as a one-stop shop for the State of Qatar's chemical, petrochemical and fertilizer exports by consolidating marketing and distribution efforts into a single entity to meet the needs of customers worldwide. It offers world-class services delivered with utmost professionalism and tailor made support. Its dedicated team is committed to offer faster and improved customer service before and after sales. Mandated by Emiri Decree No. 11/2012, Muntajat Q.J.S.C. holds exclusive rights to purchase, market, distribute and sell Qatar's production of chemical and petrochemical products on the global market.
