MTT Minister meets U.S. Ambassador

Manama, May 20 (BNA): The importance of cooperation in the fields of transportation and telecommunications was highlighted by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed during a meeting with US ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, William V. Roebuck. The minister expressed the Ministry's interest in benefiting from US expertise across numerous projects being undertaken by the MTT in developing the transportation industry, as well as attracting aviation, transportation and telecommunication companies from the US to invest in Bahrain. During the meeting, the minister said that the ministry is keen to enhance and capitalize upon the bilateral business relationship between the two countries, and to seek new opportunities to develop the land, sea and air transportation industries in Bahrain to be in-line with international standards. The minister thanked the ambassador for his continued efforts in developing the friendly ties between the two countries, as well as the numerous initiatives which are provided by the US government that contribute to the Kingdom’s continued economic progress. Commenting on the meeting, Ambassador Roebuck said: "I am impressed with the incredible achievements Bahrain has made developing its aviation, land and maritime transportation sectors. I am confident U.S. businesses can provide valuable expertise to further develop those sectors, and I look forward to working with the Minister to ensure U.S. companies are aware of relevant opportunities, and given the highest consideration when awarding contracts."
