More Than 66000 Visit Qatar Career Fair
Doha , April 06 (QNA) - The sixth edition of the Qatar Career Fair was concluded Saturday in Qatar National Convention Center, where hundreds of employment contracts were made between companies and Qatari nationals over the course of the past six days.
Some 66,750 people visited the fair that included 150 companies divided into four sector: Public, Energy and Industry, Business and Finance, Education, Health and Sports. The Career Fair has become the top destination for job seekers due to the success of previous visitors.
Executive Director of Operations at Qatar Foundation Khalid Al-Sulaiteen expressed today his satisfaction at the outcome of the sixth edition of the fair. He said that the career fair managed to achieve a lot of its goal and attracted a lot of the Qatari youth looking for job opportunities.
Meanwhile Qatar Career Fair Director Abdullah Al Mansoori said that the studies and the results of the fair reflected the high awareness of the Qatari youth, something that would benefit the society as a whole he added.
The Ministry of Business and Trade hired on the final day a number of applicants, including persons with special needs. Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Business and Trade Sultan Khatir said that the Ministry offered 50 jobs this year and hired 13 applicants from 580 ones. Khatir said that the priorities of the Ministry leaned towards hiring people with disabilities.
He praised the career fair for working on meeting the goals of human development, one of the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030. He revealed that the Qatarization drive in the ministry reached 93%.
The participating companies offered more than 14500 job and training opportunities; 4800 were in the Education, Health and Sports sector, 4200 were in the Business and Finance, 3600 were in the government and more than 1871 were in the energy and industry sector.
More than 28 organization from the public sector participated, 39 from energy and industry, 32 from business and finance and 30 from health, education and sports.
More than 300 volunteers worked on organizing the career fair. (END)
