MoI Human Rights Authority Celebrates Arab Human Rights Day

Doha , March 18 (QNA) - The Human Rights Authority of the Ministry of Interior held a seminar themed "cultivating the culture of dialogue and respecting human rights". The seminar is part of the authority's celebration of the Arab Human Rights Day. Member of the committee of women's affairs at the authority Sheikha Amal Bint Jassim Al Thani said that the Ministry's celebration of the day comes weeks after HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser participation in the 5TH Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilization (UNAOC) on February 27 in Vienna. Sheikha Amal said that HH the Emir warned that the world was witnessing political and ideological divisions that would require the international community to work on ending conflicts and spread the culture of understanding. She added that the seminar was held in an effort to combat discrimination against women, stressing that Qatari women have a strong presence in the fields of education, health, culture and charity work.
