MoH's Undersecretary meets German Ambassador, business delegation

Manama, Mar. 12 – (BNA): Ministry of Health (MOH)'s Undersecretary Dr. Ayesha Mubarak Bu Enq met the Ambassador of Germany Sabine Taufmann who was accompanied with a business delegation from the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting discussed cooperation in the field of health. The Undersecretary briefed the German delegation on the Kingdom's health sector and explored aspects of potential investment in health for the Arab-German Chamber in Bahrain. She pointed the diversity of fields and forms for cooperation, such as in the area of training Bahraini doctors in Germany and benefiting from research studies and investment in medical equipment and supplies. Dr. Ayesha said Bahrain needs to build specialized research, innovative medication, rehabilitation, accident and emergency treatment centres and to develop nursing care. She said Bahrain needs to build medical supply plants and will shortly apply the health insurance system after its approval from the Supreme Council for Health (SCH). The MoH's Undersecretary explored with the German Chamber's delegation the feasibility of building a laboratory to study hereditary diseases in the Kingdom.
