Ministry Of Economy And Trade Sets Price Ceiling For 320 Commodities In Ramadan

Doha , July 08 (QNA) - HE Minister of Economy and Trade Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani issued Monday a decision to set a price ceiling for a range of commodities during the Holy month of Ramadan. The Ministry said a statement today that decision no. 30 of 2013 to set a price ceiling for some of the commodities during Ramadan is due to the Ministry's commitment to communicate with the consumers and alleviate some of the additional costs related to their needs during the Holy month of Ramadan. HE the Minister said that the public must play their part by informing the specialized institutions of any violation of the decision. The Ministry stressed that it will intensify the efforts of its inspector's in monitoring prices to protect the consumers from commercial fraud, and to prevent any monopolistic practices. HE the Minister also called on dealers to respect the law, which is valid until the end of Ramadan. The decision set a price ceiling for 320 commodities, including flour, rice, pasta, Harees, cooking oil and milk. (QNA)
