Ministry of Awqaf honors182 Memorizers of Holy Qur'an

Doha, February 29 (QNA) - The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic affairs has honoured Wednesday 182 students who completed the memorization of the Holy Qur'an at the ministry's memorization centres and participants at international contests last year. During a ceremony held at Moza bint Mohammad Centre 30 students who completed Qur an memorizing last year, 16 who participated at international contests, and 136 students moving to the next levels in Qu ran memorizing stages were honoured Assistant Director for Da'wa and Guidance Department, Hamad Abdullah Al Marri referred to the huge efforts the students, the participants at international contests and their parents have made, along with the instructors at Qu'ran memorization centers. He said in a speech during the ceremony that all these efforts have been "fruitful" as they resulted in the memorization of the "Holy Book of Islam" and the participation of Qatari students at international contests for Qur'an memorization. Al Marri pointed out that the efforts of Awqaf Ministry in the area of Qur'an memorizing and its studies were regarded a good success to the department of Da'wa and guidance itself. The rewards allocated for the honored students reached - in total- more than 500,000 Riyals. (QNA)
