Minister of State for Internal Affairs Opened Drug Enforcement Administration New Premises

Doha, December 21 (QNA) - HE the Minister of State for Internal Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani inaugurated today new premises of the Drug Enforcement Administration in Dehail area. The two-story building, constructed at a cost of about QR 80 million on an area of 37 thousand square metres, features a modern interior design in which state-of-the-art technologies were used. HE the Director General of Public Security Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Kholeifi said the building comes as part of the the Ministry of the Interior's plans to construct modern buildings for its various departments, pointing out that the ministry made great strides in this regard. He said the coming period will witness the opening of other new buildings. Al-Kholeifi noted that the Ministry of the Interior completed until now more than 78 percent of the new premises, adding that next year will witness the opening of other buildings such the Criminal Investigation Department building and the complex the Ministry's departments at Dehail area which will house the Information Systems Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Criminal Investigation Department and the Department of Central Operations. HE the Director General of Public Security Ministry said with the opening of these new buildings, the Ministry of the Interior is progressing in its to plan which stems from its strategy that goes in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. He stressed the keenness of the Ministry of the Interior on the development of performance through the modernization of its facilities and the construction of new security and services buildings in various areas and furnishing them with the latest equipment to keep pace with the overall development of the State. HE Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Kholeifi said this building will add much to the Drug Enforcement Administration, reflect positively on the work environment of the Ministry's employees of the ministry and contribute to raising the qualification level of the officers and the non-commissioned officers and support their effort to protect the nation from toxics traffickers.(QNA)
