Minister Of Culture Receives Iranian Ambassador

Baghdad / NINA /- Culture Minister Hassan Nadhim said that the most important strategy pursued by the ministry is to open up relations between the countries that surround Iraq.
In a statement received by the Iraqi National News Agency / NINA /, the Ministry of Culture said, “The Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Hassan Nadhim discussed with the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad Iraj Masjedi, in his office at the ministry’s headquarters, ways to activate cultural agreements between the two countries, laying out broad lines and action steps for cooperation in the fields of culture, art, tourism, antiquities and handicrafts."
The minister pointed out that "strategic, deep, and solid relations connect us with Iran, explaining that "the most important strategy pursued by the Ministry of Culture is the openness to relations between the countries that surround us, and we have many prospects for work on the cultural, artistic, tourism, and other levels."
For his part, Masjedi expressed Iran's readiness to cooperate in all fields of culture, arts, tourism, and antiquities," noting that "we had a successful experience with the Iraqi side, and past experiences can be activated."
He continued, "The number of Iranian visitors to Iraq has reached more than seven million visitors annually, in addition to the visitors of the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, while the Iranian side recorded more than a million and a half million Iraqi visitors annually," explaining that "the movement between the borders is active and provides its services continuously".
Masjedi expressed his country's readiness to maintain the Iwan of Khusra and any other project, in addition to providing assistance in the field of handicrafts, which are an important resource for Iran ./ End
