Minister of Culture Meets British Delegation

Doha, February 27 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari met on Wednesday with Lord Mayor of the financial district of the City of London Alderman Roger Gifford, currently visiting Doha at the head of a delegation of senior British businessmen. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways of boosting them, and discussed the potentials of establishing cultural partnerships between the two countries. HE the Minister of Culture presented to the British delegation a detailed explanation about the cultural scene in the State of Qatar, including the cultural infrastructure that has evolved in the context of the overall development in the country, in addition to the organization of local and global cultural events representing all cultures. The Lord Mayor of London expressed admiration for Qatar's prominent cultural achievements. He highlighted the significance of the Qatar-UK 2013 program, and expressed hope that the event will be full of events that enrich the cultural relations between the two countries. The British delegation toured the pavilions of "Bait Al-Hekma" at the Ministry's headquarters, which documents the "Doha, Capital of Arab Culture 2010" with pictures and information. (QNA)
