Meetings of The Executive Committee Of the OANA Begin In Tehran

TEHRAN (NINA) - The 43rd meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Asia and Pacific News Agencies (OANA) opened in Tehran on Monday morning with the attendance of news agency officials from 35 member countries, including Iraq. Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salihi said in a speech at the meeting that (OANA) as a large organization with a large number of members could become an effective tool for the cultural and media diplomacy. Salihi said that culture as a powerful and influential tool has turned into an influential diplomat. In addition to its cultural impact, it has become a socio-political performance and effectiveness. The director-general of IRNA, Dia Hashmi confirmed that (OANA) is able, with the full cooperation and benefit of its members, to bridge the North-South media gap more quickly. "We will be able to move in the light of this towards a more just, democratic and humane international society," Hashmi said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the executive board of (OANA) in Tehran./ End
