Meeting of CSTO statutory bodies held in Yerevan

Bishkek, Nov. 24, 2022. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev took part in a joint meeting of the statutory bodies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the press service of the Foreign Ministry said. The session of the Collective Security Council was held yesterday in Yerevan. More than 20 issues were discussed at the meeting of the CSTO statutory bodies. The heads of delegations listened to the report of the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas on the work done and the results achieved during the Armenian chairmanship. “The parties exchanged views on topical issues of ensuring collective security, taking into account the current situation in the world. The participants of the meeting adopted a number of important political documents, including the Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member states on combating the financing of terrorist activities, initiated by the Kyrgyz side,” the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said. Statements by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs on strengthening international and regional security, arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation were also adopted. A statement by the Secretaries of the Security Councils on combating nationalism and extremism in various regions of the world was agreed upon. The heads of foreign policy, defense departments and security councils approved the decisions submitted for consideration by draft documents on equipping the Peacekeeping Forces with modern weapons, military and special equipment, the joint formation of radiation, chemical, biological protection and medical support for the CSTO. Following the results of the meetings, the chairmanship in the Organization will move to the Republic of Belarus.
