Mario Monti to form new Italian government

Former European Union commissioner, Mario Monti, on Sunday received a mandate to form a new Italian government to replace the outgoing one of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, officials said, dpa reported. Mario Monti has accepted a mandate from Italian President Giorgio Napolitano to form a new government with "reservation" an official said. Monti himself will provide further details shortly, the official in Napolitano's office, Donato Marra said.
