Labour minister receives Standard Chartered Bank CEO

Manama, Nov. 11 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan received here today Standard Chartered Bank Bahrain Chief Executive Dr. Peter Klink, in the presence of the bank's Financial and Economic Adviser Abdul Rahman Ali Bucheery, Head of Corporate Affairs Noora Al-Nusuf and Senior Director Human Resource Dheya Al- Shekar. They reviewed the bank's activities and initiatives related to social responsibility, as the minister was informed about social and developmental initiatives planned to be launched by the bank in cooperation with ministry during the coming period. The minister praised these initiatives that come in the context of promoting partnership and align with the ministry's aspirations towards boosting the role of the private sector's establishments. Dr. Klink affirmed the bank's keenness on cooperating with the ministry and adopting human dimension initiatives, which is considered one of the bank's key tasks within its framework of social responsibility. He lauded the facilities provided by Bahrain's government for the financial and banking institutions operating in the Kingdom of Bahrain so as to create attractive investment atmosphere, noting the ministry's role at providing the banking and financial sector with qualified national human resources to occupy jobs and professions offered by this vital sector. The meeting was attended by Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care and Rehabilitation Badriya Al Jeep, Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development Khalid Ishaq Al Kooheji and a number of officials at the ministry.
