Kyrgyzstan's agricultural sector to receive state support

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met with representatives of domestic processing enterprises, the press service of the Cabinet reported Wednesday. Topical issues in the sphere of food security, state support of agrarian sector and development of anti-crisis measures were discussed during the meeting. The head of the cabinet noted the need to ensure food security of the country in 9 clusters, including meat products (cattle and small ruminants, poultry, fish), dairy products, flour, sugar, vegetable oil, vegetables and fruits. "We aim to provide the necessary support to the agro-industrial complex through the development of clusters through the provision of concessional lending and financing, leasing. State banks, the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, the Gurantee Fund OJSC will provide appropriate funding to increase production and meet the country's needs for the main types of food products. I am ready to hold weekly working meetings to address food security issues," Akylbek Zhaparov said. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Agriculture Financing project, according to which Aiyl Bank and RSK Bank OJSC allocated KGS 10 billion for soft loans and financing, including in accordance with the Islamic principles. As a result of the meeting, a number of instructions were given to the relevant state bodies to further elaborate the issues of state support for the agricultural sector.
