Kyrgyzstan, UAE and Saudi Arabia agree on implementation of joint energy projects

Bishkek, May 11, 2022. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement on implementation of joint energy projects, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan said.
Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzaev participates in the international strategic conference World Utilities Congress in the UAE.
Bekmurzaev arrived there at the invitation of UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroui. The conference brought together energy ministers from a number of Asian and European countries.
“It is a convenient platform for finding new partners and discussing the latest trends in the energy sector," the report said.
During the bilateral meeting with Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroui, the issues of renewable energy were discussed. The Kyrgyz minister spoke about the potential of hydropower in the republic and expressed openness to cooperation for the implementation of joint projects and investments.
Minister Bekmurzaev also met with Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.
"Our ties with the countries of the Arabian Peninsula are getting stronger. The efforts of the Ministry of Energy are aimed at modernizing the energy sector of the Kyrgyz Republic. We are looking for reliable partners with whom we can implement big tasks. We are ready to create all conditions for investors," Minister Bekmurzaev said.
In April, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and a large energy company from the UAE. This company will study the potential of RES in the Kyrgyz Republic.
