Kyrgyzstan together with Uzbekistan starts construction of Kambar-Ata HPP-1, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov said at the opening ceremony of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund. The opening of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov. The head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet added that it is also planned to build, trade and logistics centers and highways. "In addition, Kyrgyzstan plans to act as a transit bridge for Uzbekistan and increase the volume of agricultural products exchange with the neighboring country," Zhaparov said. In conclusion, the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers also indicated that in the near future the turnover between the countries should grow to $2 billion. According to the plan, the capacity of Kambar-Ata HPS-1 will be 1 thousand 860 MW (one and a half times more than the largest station of the country - Toktogul), on average 5.6 billion kWh will be produced annually. The station will be located on the Naryn River, upstream of Toktogul HPP. It is planned to build a dam 256 meters high, the volume of the reservoir - 5.4 million cubic meters.
