Kyrgyzstan offers to hold business forum of Kyrgyz and French entrepreneurs in Paris

Bishkek, Dec. 8, 2022 / Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to France Sadyk Sher-Niyaz proposed to hold a business forum of Kyrgyz and French entrepreneurs in the capital of France next year at a meeting with Secretary General of the French Foreign Ministry Anna-Maria de Scot. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sher-Niyaz also focused on the need to develop economic, trade, investment relations through the establishment of a joint Kyrgyz-French Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the conclusion of agreements in the field of avoiding double taxation and protecting investments. The participation of French companies in the implementation of economic projects in Kyrgyzstan was positively assessed, especially in terms of developing the energy sector of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, and it was proposed to strengthen work in this direction, taking into account the favorable conditions created in the country for European entrepreneurs and investors. Much attention is paid to the issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The parties noted with satisfaction the start of the work of the Institute of Franco-German Culture in Bishkek. Discussing the issues of interaction between the two countries within the framework of multilateral diplomacy, the ambassador expressed gratitude to the French side for the decision to co-sponsor the UN General Assembly resolution proposed by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to declare 2022 the International Year of Sustainable Development of Mountain Regions. In addition, the Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude for France's support for the resolution of the UNESCO General Conference on the conservation of mountain glaciers. The parties also exchanged views on the current situation in Central Asia and considered the problems of regional security. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue to make joint efforts to further expand cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and France.
