Kyrgyzstan, IFC discuss development of projects in renewable energy sources

Bishkek, March 18, 2022. / Kabar /. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Aziz Aaliev met with a delegation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) led by Regional Manager for Transaction Advisory Services – Public Private Partnerships for the Middle East and North Africa region Muneer Ferozie. During the meeting, topical issues of cooperation were discussed, including the development of projects in the energy sector in the format of public-private partnership. Aziz Aaliev noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is committed to the development of projects in the field of renewable energy sources and stressed the interest in implementing a pilot project for the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant with the assistance of IFC. He said that it is important to use the positive experience of introducing renewable energy sources in the implementation of successful projects in neighboring countries. IFC representative Muneer Ferozie expressed readiness for further cooperation in the implementation of projects in the energy sector. Following the meeting, the sides agreed to establish a working group to work out further issues.
