Kyrgyzstan to build solar power plant

Bishkek, Dec. 20, 2022 / Kabar/. Next year, the work will begin on the construction of a solar power plant in Kyrgyzstan, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country Akylbek Zhaparov told at a meeting of the Cabinet speaking about the results of his working visit to the United Arab Emirates last week. He said that an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Energy and Masdar for 1 gigawatt. “Next year, work begins on the construction of a solar power plant. The investment for the first 200 megawatts will be about USD 180 million. During the visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Arab Emirates, 9 agreements were signed, and relevant documents were considered within the framework of the meeting of the intergovernmental commission. The Cabinet of Ministers should continue to work on attracting foreign investments, implementing important projects in order to maintain the pace of economic growth,” said Akylbek Zhaparov. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov visited Abu Dhabi on Dec. 12-13. As part of his working trip, he took part as a co-chair at the 2nd plenary meeting of the joint intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Emirati Commission on economic cooperation. Akylbek Zhaparov also held a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings with UAE leadership.
