Kyrgyz, Turkmen leaders discuss topical issues of cooperation

Cholpon-Ata, July 21, 2022. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met on Thursday with Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedow. The meeting took place in Cholpon-Ata town of Issyk-Kul Oblast as part of the Fourth Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported. The presidents of the two countries discussed topical issues of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats. Sadyr Zhaparov, welcoming his Turkmen counterpart, stressed that this year the countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and noted with satisfaction that during this period a high level of strategic partnership between the states has been formed. The president of Kyrgyzstan noted that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to the expansion and qualitative development of trade and economic relations, considering Turkmenistan as a very important economic partner. Serdar Berdimuhamedow thanked the Kyrgyz side for the warm welcome and emphasized that the Consultative Meeting is a new form of communication at the highest level to discuss issues in the Central Asian region. The Turkmen leader expressed confidence that the documents to be adopted and signed at the Consultative Meeting will contribute to expanding and deepening the effective cooperation between the countries of the region.Berdimuhamedow expressed readiness to continue fruitful cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas of mutual interest, including in trade, economic and investment spheres.
