Kyrgyz, Saudi FMs discuss wide range of issues of bilateral relations

Bishkek, June 20, 2022. /Kabar/. As part of his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev met with KSA Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The foreign minister of the countries discussed a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Saudi relations, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said Monday. They also noted with satisfaction the high dynamics of cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, noting the importance of organizing reciprocal visits at high and the highest levels. Jeenbek Kulubaev delivered a special message of President Sadyr Zhaparov addressed to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. Praising the development of Kyrgyz-Saudi relations, the Kyrgyz foreign minister urged to further intensify the relations and raise them to a new level. In this context, Kulubaev stressed the need to increase trade and economic cooperation, as well as the opening of direct regular flights between the two countries and the speedy resolution of the issue of issuing electronic tourist visas to the KSA for Kyrgyz citizens. Prince Faisal Al Saud thanked the Kyrgyz side for hospitality during his first official visit to Kyrgyzstan in March 2022 and confirmed the Kingdom's intention to expand bilateral cooperation. Referring to the international agenda and the interaction of the two countries within international and regional organizations, including the OIC, Kulubayev praised the role of the KSA in maintaining peace and stability in the region and in the global community. The sides also exchanged views on topical issues on the international and regional agenda, noting the need to consolidate forces in addressing complex issues related to food security and the humanitarian crisis. Regional issues, including the situation in Yemen, Afghanistan and Ukraine, were discussed thoroughly.
