Kyrgyz president meets with chairperson of Uzbek Senate

Bishkek, March 12, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met on Friday with Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva. An exchange of views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including cultural, humanitarian and inter-parliamentary interaction between the two countries took place, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said. Sadyr Zhaparov expressed great interest in the progressive development of inter-parliamentary cooperation with Uzbekistan, and added the Kyrgyz side expects an official visit of Tanzila Narbayeva to Kyrgyzstan, which was planned back in 2019, but was postponed for a number of objective reasons. In addition, the Kyrgyz president noted the importance of the dialogue of cultures as an important factor in strengthening friendship between peoples. In this context, he stressed the need to expand cultural and sports activities, including in the border regions of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in order to strengthen fraternal relations between local residents and young people. Tanzila Narbayeva noted the visit of Sadyr Zhaparov opens a new page in the relationship between the two countries. She assured that the parliament of the country, in particular the Upper Chamber, will do its best to help implement all the agreements, which were reached during the talks of presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as the development of inter-parliamentary and regional cooperation. The chairwoman of the Uzbek Senate emphasized the need to develop cooperation on information and analytical issues between the parliaments to harmonize legislation of the two countries. Narbayeva expressed hope that the intensification of cooperation and the solution of all problematic issues will serve to improve the well-being of the people of the two states.
