Kyrgyz minister of economy discusses with IMF mission latest changes and prospects in economy

Bishkek, 2022 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev met with the head of the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and permanent representative of the IMF office in the Kyrgyz Republic Tigran Poghosyan, the ministry's press service reported. At the meeting, issues of recent changes in the economy and prospects for the socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed. The minister briefly highlighted the results of 2021 and 4 months of 2022, the current situation in the economy and measures taken to overcome the impact of negative external shocks on the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, and also answered questions from the mission. The IMF representatives said that the mission is a review mission and the goals are to collect the necessary information for the preparation of analytical materials, as well as for further consultations under Article IV of the agreement with the IMF. Also, the head of the mission announced his readiness to provide the necessary technical assistance to the ministry.
