Kyrgyz, Hungarian leaders debate topical areas of cooperation

Bishkek, Sept. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. As part of his official visit to Hungary, Kyrgyzstan’s President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with his Hungarian counterpart János Áder. Topical areas of Kyrgyz-Hungarian bilateral cooperation were discussed. The sides also exchanged views on the issues of rational use of water resources and environmental protection, the Kyrgyz president’s press service reported. The Hungarian leader noted fruitful negotiations between President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán, which will certainly give an impetus to increasing joint interaction between the countries. He also emphasized that the issues of rational use of water resources are becoming increasingly urgent taking into account the melting of glaciers and modern global challenges. Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated János Áder on bringing bilateral cooperation to the level of strategic partnership. He expressed confidence that a sustainable dialogue at the highest level would contribute to further comprehensive and active development of Kyrgyz-Hungarian cooperation. Jeenbekov also noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches special importance to environmental issues, and domestic agricultural products are environmentally friendly, which can successfully compete in foreign markets. The Kyrgyz leader expressed readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation in this direction, and invited Hungarian President János Áder to visit Kyrgyzstan. The parties agreed to continue active cooperation to build bilateral relations for the benefit of the two countries. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov is in Hungary for official visit. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan consists of: Minister of Foreign Affairs Chingiz Aidarbekov, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Kyrgyz President's Office Daniyar Sydykov, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Hungary Bakyt Dzhusupov, Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiyev, Minister of Education and Science Kanybek Isakov, Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Reclamation Erkinbek Choduyev, Minister of Transport and Roads Janat Beishenov, Minister of Finance Baktygul Jeenbayeva and Minister of Economy Sanjar Mukambetov.
